Well the UK Wildcats are 15-0. That’s off to a good start. The most recent win was a victory over the Loserville Cards. What a great day in sports when UK wins and Loserville loses, and to think this time it happened on the same court.
Of course the Loserville fans are whining that Demarcus Cousins should have been ejected and calling UK fans hypocrites because of the complaints we have regarding Christian Laettner not being ejected in the pUKe game when he stepped on Aminu Timberlake. Let me point out some major differences between the two incidents. When Cousins hit Swopshire with his FOREARM (not elbow) it was during the play. Was it intentional? It may have been, but we will never know for sure. While both players were wrestling for the ball Cousins hit Swopshire with his forearm. During that same ‘wrestling’ event Swopshire kneed Cousins in the head. Was that intentional? It may have been, but we will never know for sure. Therefore if Cousins should have been ejected so should Swopshire. Can you comprehend that logic Clark Kellog’s Frosted Flakes and Tim, I wish I was Marlon, Brando?
At least Pitino, who I really do not admire, was honest enough to say that he would have been glad to have Cousins ejected just because it would have meant 18 more rebounds they may have been able to get. At least he wasn’t crying for Cousins to be ejected because he had been ‘too rough’.
The game was played physical and filled with mind games, even before it started. It was easy to see that Loserville’s game plan was to push the envelope and try to rattle the young UK team. The early play of Delk against Eric Bledsoe was evidence of where they wanted to take this game. If you are going to push the other team, whether literally or metaphorically, don’t complain when they push back. The problem for Loserville was that UK was just too tough and too good for them.
Next up for the Wildcats is the start of SEC play with Georgia at home on Saturday, January 9th.
This just in - it just keeps getting better as UNC loses to College of Charleston. All I can say now is go Iowa (they play pUKe).
